Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are going to fight each other in a cage match.
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, two of the most well-known tech billionaires in the world, have decided to fight in a cage match.
Mr. Musk said he was "up for a cage fight" with Mr. Zuckerberg on his social media site, Twitter.
Then, Mr. Zuckerberg, who runs the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, shared a screenshot of Mr. Musk's tweet with the words "send me location" next to it.
"The story speaks for itself," a spokesman for Meta told the BBC.
When Mr. Zuckerberg answered, Mr. Musk said, "Vegas Octagon."
The Octagon is the place where Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fights take place. It has a mat and a fence around it. Las Vegas, Nevada is where the UFC is based. Mr. Musk, who turns 52 later this month, also tweeted, "I have this great move I call "The Walrus," where I just lie on top of my opponent and do nothing."
Later, he shared short videos of walruses, which may have been a sign that his challenge to Mr. Zuckerberg wasn't so serious after all.
He also wrote on Twitter, "Almost the only time I work out is when I pick up my kids and throw them in the air.Mr. Zuckerberg, who is 39, has been training in mixed martial arts (MMA) for a while and has recently won jiu-jitsu contests.
When the BBC asked Twitter for a reply, Twitter did not say anything.
People on social media are arguing about who they think would win the fight, and others have posted memes like fake posters promoting the fight. For instance, business consultant Seyi Taylor posted "Choose your fighter" with pictures of the two tech bosses.
Zuckerberg posted a screenshot of the Tweet in which Musk preened: "I'm up for a cage match if he is" — with text apparently from Zuckerberg over it that read: "Send Me Location" on his Instagram story on Wednesday.
Musk initially posed the challenge over reports that the Meta CEO may be launching a text-based Twitter rival called "Threads."In a Tweet posted on Tuesday, Musk initially said: "I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options.”
